Active Sky have been helpful but have not shone any real light on my problem so far. Yes I do realize that Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Hi Martyson, I do have full permissions "C:\Program Files \Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4".

There must be someone out there who has some proper knowledge of how I can do what I want? Finally, I can get this Client/Server setup for FSX but not so far with Prepar3D v4.5?įinally, I have been in contact with Active Sky who have tried to help but so far no success.Īs I don't know how to respond to each of you individually, I will address your last responses individually within one message. My problem is which one should I run? Should I run the lot, where should I run them?, should these files be copied to my client machine and run there and if so where exactly?

Now each of these directories contains an install file called SimConnect.msi which I have been told to run. There are 6 sub folders in this directory named ESPv1, FSX-RTM, FSX-RTM-JPN, FSX-SP1, FSX-SP1-RUS andFSX-SP2-XPACK respectively. Finally, I have already been directed to a bunch of files which are part of Prepar3D V4.5 (on the server machine) which reside in the directory C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\redist\Interface. I have gotten to the point where it would appear the only thing I can do is to drop the Server/Client installation and install ActiveSky for Prepar3D v4.5 on my server machine.

Now there are a miriad of supposed solutions (which don't work) but I am wondering whether anyone on the forum has an up to date system with respect to the software I am running. Unfortunately I cannot get the two packages to connect. I have also installed ActiveSky for Prepar3D V4.5 on my client machine and Prepar3D V4.5 on my server machine. Careful 3D modeling of cloud structures and textures enables this, while creating realistic and unique variants of the real-world cloud types including stratus, nimbostratus, altocumulus, altostratus, cumulus humilis, cumulus mediocris, cumulus congestus, towering cumulus, stratocumulus, cirrostratus, cirrocumulus, cumulonimbus incus, cumulonimbus calvus and more.Hi, I have installed ActiveSky 16 on my client machine and have FSX on my server machine and all is working well. From solid overcast, to towering cumulonimbus, everything was designed for the best visuals with minimal performance sacrifice. But in addition to the graphical textures, ASCA also includes something very different: Brand New 3D Cloud Structures, which replace and/or enhance nearly every aspect of the cloud scene within the simulator! Thunderstorms are bigger, overcast is more full, light “few” humilis-type clouds are more visually appealing, and all cloud scenes are specifically tuned to match the ASCA texture content and provide maximum realism.Ī primary design focus for ASCA was performance. In addition, in ASCA’s Full Dynamics theme, simultaneous variation of up to 8 different texture sets ( 128 cloud textures total) are provided including simultaneous texture resolution to provide increased performance for certain cloud types that don’t require high resolution (such as overcast layers).ĪSCA’s graphical content includes replacements/enhancements for everything above the horizon: Cirrus clouds, Cumulus clouds, Stratus clouds, Thunderstorm clouds, Sky colors and Lighting. The technology behind ASCA includes optional tight integration with Active Sky 2016, ASP4 and ASP3D to enable features such as Real-Time Texture Dynamics, which allow you to manually change or have your textures automatically changed multiple times throughout a flight without the need to shut-down and restart your simulator! The variation experienced throughout a flight with AS16/ASP4/ASP3D + ASCA is unprecedented, especially when flying through areas of varying weather conditions and severity. Active Sky Cloud Art ( ASCA ) is a new kind of graphics add-on for Flight Simulator X and Prepar3D that incorporates brand new technologies and content types to transform your skies and significantly increase realism, variation and dynamics.
